Prep Enrolment Procedures

Welcome and thank you for your interest in enrolling your child at Wembley Primary School. 

 

To start primary school in 2027, your child will need to turn 5 years old by 30 April 2027. Schooling is compulsory for children who have turned 6 years old. If your child is starting Foundation (Prep) in 2027, you will be able to apply to enrol your child in a Victorian government primary school from the start of Term 2, 2026 (Monday 20 April 2026).

 

Each year, the Department of Education releases new enrolment information and packs, which must be used by the school. This general enrollment information can be found here: https://www.vic.gov.au/enrolling-foundation-prep

 

Interested in enrolling at Wembley?

  1. We recommend either enrolling to attend an information session or booking a school tour in order to determine whether our school feels like the right fit for you and your child. 
  2. To attend an information session or book a tour, please access our bookings page. 
  3. Use Find my School to locate your designated neighbourhood school (also referred to as your local school) and other nearby government schools. Your residential address must fall within Wembley Primary School's zone, in order to be guaranteed an enrollment place. 
  4. Not within our school zone? This does not prevent you from booking a tour, or submitting an enrollment application, however the outcome of this is not guaranteed (see further information below) 

Ready to enroll? Next Steps: 

  1. Download the Foundation (Prep) Enrolment Information Pack for Parents and Carers (which will be updated and released by the Department from Week 1 of Term 2). This pack will include an application form. The school may also provide you with a copy of the form to complete, or a separate form can also be found here (reactivated Week 1 of Term 2).
  2. Submit an enrolment application for Foundation (Prep) by Friday 31 July 2026.
  3. You will be notified of the outcome of your application between Monday 3 August and Friday 14 August 2026. If you receive an enrolment offer, you should respond to the offer by Friday 28 August 2026.
  4. Ensure your child participates in information and transition sessions during Term 4, 2026.
  5. Your child will start Foundation (Prep) from Monday 1 February 2027 (TBC).

Enrolment applications received after 31 July 2026 will be processed by the school as they are received.
